BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. The value of steel products export from Türkiye to Azerbaijan declined by 8.1 percent to $78.9 million from January through August 2023 compared to the same period last year, the Turkish Ministry of Trade said, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, the export of steel products from Türkiye to Azerbaijan decreased by 16.4 percent in value terms to $8.9 million in August this year on annual basis.
Overall, exports of Turkish steel products decreased by 36.4 percent and amounted to $9.7 million from January through August 2023 compared to the same period of 2022.
Moreover, Türkiye exported $1.4 billion worth of steel products in August 2023, down by 25.1 percent year on year.
In general, Türkiye has exported steel products worth $15.5 billion over the past 12 months (from August 2022 through August 2023).
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, a volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has reached $3.9 billion in the first half of 2023, which is increase by 34.8 percent or $11.4 million compared to the same period of 2022.
Meanwhile, the volume of exports from Azerbaijan to Türkiye increased by 49.5 percent or $917,000 on annual basis and equaled $2.7 billion, and the volume of imports from Turkiye to Azerbaijan increased by nine percent or $94.4 million to reach $1.1 billion.
