BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Azerbaijan's GDP grew by four percent from January through March 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, to 29 billion manat ($17 billion), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, in the reporting period of 2024, value added in the non-oil sector grew by 6.7 percent and in the oil and gas sector by 0.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The share of industry in the GDP structure amounted to 39.3 percent during the mentioned period.
The data of the State Statistics Committee showed that in the GDP structure, 9.7 percent came from trade and repair of vehicles, 6.8 percent from transport and warehousing, 5.9 percent from construction, 2.9 percent from agriculture, forestry, and fish farming, 2.4 percent from the tourism sector, and 1.7 percent from information and communication. Other sectors of the economy accounted for 20.4 percent of GDP.
Net import tax revenue amounted to 10.9 percent of GDP during the period.
GDP per capita in Azerbaijan amounted to 2,856.5 manat ($1,679) in the reporting period of 2024.
To note, Azerbaijan's GDP in 2023 increased by 1.1 percent compared to 2022, up to 123 billion manat ($72.3 billion).
