Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 March / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / In 2007, the State enterprises and organizations made 8,312 state purchases, which is 28.12% more compared to 2006. According to the State Agency on Purchase, the total cost of signed agreements on purchases comprised AZN 3,157,871mln. About AZN 169,557mln was saved (7.29%).
Some 6,265 tenders were held at the expense of State Budget and 5,386 through quotation poll. The signed agreements totalled AZN 1,361,023mln. Some AZN 1, 274,373mln tenders was signed and AZN 86,649mln were quoted.
In 2007, 3,455 tenders on AZN 1,206,962mln were carried out at the expense of Ministries, Committees, State enterprises and organizations.
Some 2,810 tenders in the sum of AZN 154,061mln were implemented at the expense of Educational and Health Ministries, Communal sector and other organizations.
State enterprises and organizations spent AZN 710,773mln for 2,021 tenders saving 10.33%. Twenty-six tenders were held at the expense of the International Financial Institution (Banks) and AZN 255,632mln was allocated for this purposes. The report developed by State Agency noted an increase in the number of local enterprises, including small-scale and medium-scale enterprises. Today, 90% of foodstuff for the State is provided at the expense of local production compared to 30% in 1998. Local manufactures produce meat, diary products, flour products, vegetables, natural juice and other products, which was previously imported. Presently, everything apart from foodstuffs required by law enforcement departments increased from 75% to 95% (AZN 32mnl) and 60%. for State departments.
Examination held by the Agency revealed 19% of the State purchases are provides by small-scale and medium-scale enterprises. Most of the construction work is held by local companies which influences local production development.
