Azerbaijani Association of Credit Unions Issues over AZN 10mln loan in 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 March / corr Trend A.Badalova / Through 2007, 10,240 members of 54 credit unions-AKIA members to that date, received 6,564 credits worth of 10,620,110 AZN, AKIA reported..

Only in December, 2007, they received 1,452 new credits worth of AZN 1,123,462. Only for this month within AKIA 631 persons received a loan for the first time. In comparison, through 2006, 8,960 members of 57 credit unions-AKIA members to that moment, received 5,640 credits worth of AZN 7,705,890. The amount of an average loan granted in 2007 totalled AZN 773.7, while in 2006 this indicator was AZN 1,366.

As of 1 January 2008, the total authorized capital of credit unions-AKIA members made up AZN 3,859,350. Only through December 2007, their credit portfolio increased by AZN 33,625. In comparison, as of 1 January, 2007, this indicator made up AZN 2,943,853. Therefore, through 2007, the authorized capital increased by AZN 915,496. As of 1 January, 2008, the total credit portfolio of the credit unions reached AZN 32,041,037, while as of 1 January 2007 it was equal to AZN 21,420,927.

As of 1 February 2008, the Azerbaijan Credit Union Association - AKIA united 51 credit unions.

As of 1 January, 2008, the total number of active members of credit unions-AKIA members was 10,240 persons, with 9,995 individuals and 245 companies. In December 2007, the number of members of the credit unions increased to 172.

As of 1 January 2008, the number of female members of the credit unions made up 2,771 (27.4%), while as of 1 January, 2007, this indicator was equal to 2 201 (24.5%).

On 10 January, 2008, the membership of the following credit unions in the Association: "Turan", "Traser", "Balakan", "Julfa" and "Gayghi" was put forward. Moreover, the Board came to conclusion to admit the credit unions "Sahibkar" and "Fim-Finans
