Announced Cost for New Boeing Airplanes

Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 August / Trend / Boeing, American company and Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL) has completed discussion of the contract to purchase two airplanes 737-900ERs and two 767-300ER; the company placed the information on the website.

Order's cost is $449mln. Boeing 767 is expected to replace the earlier ordered Boeing 787.

Azerbaijani Airlines will generally purchase eight Boeings - four 737-900ERs, two - 787-8S and two 767-300ERs.

According to AZAL President Jahangir Askarov, acquisition of airplanes will make the partnership with Boeing closer.

"We try to create our Boeing park by acquiring 737 and 767s airplanes and to meet demand in the region," Askarov said.

In early 2007, AZAL signed a deal to purchase five Boeings - two Boeings 737-900 and three Boeing - 787.

Boeing - 787 airplanes are expected to be delivered to Azerbaijan in 2010. Azerbaijan is the first country to obtain this mark airplane.
