Azerbaijan does not face problems when coordinating borders with Russia and Georgia, Azerbaijan State Land and Cartography Committee Garib Mammadov said on Feb. 6.

"We have inconsistencies, but there are no problems in the negotiations," he said.

Mammadov said every country has its own stance. With a 490-kilometer-long border among the three countries, three areas have not yet been coordinated.

A section with the length of 8 kilometers and square of 30 hectares at the junction of Azerbaijani, Russian and Georgian borders in the Balakan, an area in Sugovshagy point with the length of 17.5 kilometers, and a section in Yalama point in the Khachmaz region with the length of 8-8.5 kilometers still remain uncoordinated.

"Russian experts are expected to visit Azerbaijan to hold a joint meeting at the State Commission for delimitation and demarcation of state border between Russia and Azerbaijan," said Mammadov.

As part of delimitating state land border, Azerbaijan and Russia were able to agree on 95 percent of its length.

Issues concerning delimitation of state borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia occurred as there are differences between 1905 and 1938 maps.

"We have agreed on more than 300 kilometers of the 490-kilometer border among the countries," said Mammadov.

The border is being delimited on maps in scale 1:100 000. Azerbaijan wants next meetings to be held in the first quarter of this year.
