Rustavi builds modern automobile racetrack

Construction of an automobile racetrack meeting international standards is underway in Rustavi. The Georgian Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili and the Kvemo Kartli Region’s Governor David Kirkitadze visited the site of construction works the day before.

Construction of an automobile racetrack meeting international standards is underway in Rustavi. The Georgian Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili and the Kvemo Kartli Region's Governor David Kirkitadze visited the site of construction works the day before.

It is planned to build a new asphalt motorway, and stands, designed for 20,000 spectators in accordance with the project.

Nikolaishvili said that the automobile racetrack of similar scale and quality has never been available in the post-Soviet space. "It can host the European Championship, and it is a great challenge for us," the minister said.

Construction of the automobile racetrack should be completed in April 2011.
