Nearly one million subscribers in Georgia will receive a 20-lari ($ 1 = 1.78 lari) vouchers for electricity. As the Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri said the government has allocated $20 million for this purpose.
Vouchers will be distributed from Feb. 10 to March 15. Owners of closed apartments and those who haven't consumed over 200 kW / hour of electricity for six months will not get them.
Regarding to refugees, according to Khetaguri , they will receive these vouchers in the form of cash assistance, because the state pays for the electricity they consume.
The Minister of Labour, Health and Social Welfare Andria Urushadze said that vouchers will be distributed by more than 2,500 employees of social service agency. According to him, in case of any problem or question persons interested can call the hotline - 91 00 46.
As was noted at the briefing, persons interested in transferring their vouchers to other subscribers will be able to do it by June1.
