Iran and Ukraine eager to increase volume of transaction to more $2.5 billion, Mehr News Agency quotes Iran's Economy Ministry Mehdi Ghazanfari as saying.
"Considering the strong potential between Tehran and Kiev, the level of trade should increase in the public and private sectors," he said.
The two countries seek to form a joint commission in the near future and a high ranking Ukrainian delegation is scheduled meet Iranian businessmen in August.
Ukraine exports iron, steel, machinery, transport equipment, and locomotive parts to Iran. It imports pistachios, dried nuts, fruit, textile and ceramics.
According to statistics Ukraine's trade in 2009 reached $86 billion; $ 41 billion in exports and $45 billion in imports of goods between Ukraine and other countries.
