About 80 percent of Azerbaijani insurance company's premiums accounts for vehicle insurance in first half-year

About 80 percent of the premiums and more than 97 percent of payments of Azerbaijani insurance company "Meqa Sıgorta", carried out in the first half-year, accounted for vehicle insurance, the company's PR-manager Elnur Eyvazov told Trend.
The total amount of the company's premiums for the six months hit 117.043.39 manat, 114. 076.59 manat of which accounted for voluntary insurance. Payments for this period hit 17.806.21 manat (17.296.21 manat was paid on vehicle insurance, 510 manat - on compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners).
On individual insurance the company collected 5.156.38 manat, vehicle insurance - 93.054.26 manat, insurance against fire and other risks - 5,692 manat, cargo insurance - 8.073.95 manat, liability insurance - 2,100 manat.
On compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners "Meqa Sıgorta" collected premiums worth 2.966.8 manat. Payments for compulsory insurance against fire hit 540 manat, compulsory environmental insurance - 880 manat.

"Meqa Sıgorta" insurance company began to operate under a new brand from October 2010 and has a license to provide 29 types of insurance services, including four compulsory.

The official exchange rate is 0.7865 manat to $1 on July 22.
