Ahmadinejad's nominees sent to Parliament for confidence vote

The government's four candidatures to head the newly established ministries of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Security and Industry, Mines and Trade, Oil Ministry and Sport and Youth Affairs will be submitted to the parliament to receive MPs confidence vote, Mehr News Agency reported.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will submit his nominees, while they will discuss their plans on parliament's Tuesday session.

The government has finalized a list of nominees to head the new merged ministries. Mohammad Aliabadi was nominated as the Oil Minister, Abdolreza Sheikholeslami as the minister for Cooperatives, Labor and social Security, Mehdi Ghazanfari as minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Mohammad Abbasi as minister of Sport and Youth Affairs.

Iran 's parliament approved formation of two ministries on the bases of five ministries with 174 votes for, five votes against and five votes abstained

Ministries of Cooperatives, Labor, Welfare and Social Security merged into one body, while the Mines and Industries joined with the Ministry of commerce and formed a new ministry.

According to the legislation, all functions and administrative powers of these ministries are transferred into two new ministries of "Cooperatives, Labor and social Security" and "Industry, Mines and Trade" .
