Azerbaijan uses alternative mechanism to get targeted social assistance

Azerbaijan has begun testing alternative mechanisms of targeted social assistance, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security's department said.
The Ministry of Labour has prepared alternative mechanisms to get targeted social assistance to ensure transparency of the program of targeted social assistance aimed at improving the living standards of poor families, to minimize the relations between officials and citizens, to eliminate subjective factors in the decision-making process. This system will be initially tested in the pilot regions - Balakan and Jalilabad.
Azerbaijan has passed to a system of targeted social assistance since 2006.
