The National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support (NFES) under the Economic Development Ministry has been negotiating with over 130 companies with regard to project funding for those working in the production of souvenirs and memorabilia, the head of NFES Shirzad Abdullayev told reporters on Thursday.

"We have already held talks with these firms and a general meeting with them will be held soon," Mr Abdullaev said.

The NFES announced the granting of investment projects to finance the production of souvenir items and memorabilia that reflects the cultural, spiritual and national values of the country.
Taking into consideration Azerbaijan's numerous international and sports events, music festivals, the annual growth in tourist numbers as well as the organisation of Eurovision in Baku in 2012, the acceptance of such investment projects has been announced.

Mr Abdullaev noted that the National Fund has financed three projects in this area, which include small and medium enterprises working in carpet weaving.

Companies have been encouraged to work on the production, packaging and sales of souvenirs and memorabilia items which include clothing, spinning products, sculpture, carving and accessories, as well as the organisation of top designers.

Projects may be submitted to the authorised credit institutions and a list of addresses can be found on the official NFES website (www.anfes.gov.az). Upon request from the entrepreneur, the Business Investment project can offer a 100 per cent loan funded through the NFES.
