Iran has imported $50 billion in goods and exported $35 billion over the first ten months of the Iranian year which ends in March, the Governmental Information Center website dolat.ir reported.
This year, imports hit 5.7 percent less than the same period of last year, Abbas Memar Nejad, the head of the Iranian Customs Administration, said.
Exports hit 31.5 percent more than last year. Seventy-one percent of Iran's imports fell to raw and intermediate materials, 17 percent - capital goods and 11-12 percent - consumer goods, Mr. Memar Nejad said.
