Petrol use up by 11 percent for Iran's new year

Iranians used an average of 74.6 million liters of petrol during the first days of their new year, Shana news agency reports.

Across the country, petrol consumption grew 11 percent March 16 to 23 as Iranians set out during the two-week holiday marking the New Year.

During the same period diesel use dropped 44.6 percent, kerosene use dropped 71 percent. In Tehran, petrol use was six percent lower than the week before and stood at 92.1 million liters.
