Several more Azerbaijani banks will create their own processing centers in the near future, Central Bank of Azerbaijan official Vahid Gurbanli said at a workshop today.
"Own processing centers allow for saving on transactions with cards, and, thus, many banks are interested in creating them," he added.
He said the CBA is negotiating with several banks in this regard.
However, official appeals have not yet been received.
He did not name the banks with which the negotiations are held.
Five processing centers -- Azericard, MilliKart, TexKart, RoyalCard and KapitalBank -- presently operate in Azerbaijan.
