Foreign direct investment in Turkey increased by more than 8.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2011, reaching $ 8.9 billion, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said, the agency Anadolu reported on Thursday.
Foreign direct investment in Turkey amounted to $630 million in July 2012.
The minister noted that EU countries invested the most. Investments from these countries amounted to 77.4 percent of the total investment in January-July.
Investment from the UK amounted to $1.9 billion, Austria - $1.42 billion, the Netherlands - $800 million.
