Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri expects the investments worth more than $2 billion to be made this year.

Khaduri said this at a press conference on Tuesday. He expressed hope that the investments will double and reach $2 billion in 2013 compared to last year.

"When I talk about these figures, I am talking about investors who have already confirmed their willingness to invest in Georgia," he said. "The funds and the distribution of the allocated funds will be very important. I think we will have a very interesting experience in this regard."

He said that the meetings have been actively held with investors, including such major companies as "Tata group", "Dhabi Group" and others.

The minister said that the Georgian government has quite optimistic expectations for attracting investments.
