Consumer gas tariff to increase by almost 14 per cent in Uzbekistan from 1 April

In Uzbekistan, tariffs for natural gas sold to the population will increase by 13.8 per cent according to the updated registry of tariffs from April 1, Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company’s official website reported on Monday.

In Uzbekistan, tariffs for natural gas sold to the population will increase by 13.8 per cent according to the updated registry of tariffs from April 1, Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company's official website reported on Monday.

If there is a gas counter, the cost of natural gas sold to the population from next month, will rise to 139.8 soms per cubic meter compared to 122.85 soms per cubic meter at present.

If there is no gas counter, the cost of 10 cubic meters of gas used for cooking and hot water will be 2418.55 soms (now 2125.28 soms).

The cost of 10 cubic meters of gas used for heating increased up to 1121.6 soms from 985.6 soms.

Last time gas prices increased in Uzbekistan was in October last year when it reached 14 per cent on average.

As was previously reported, from April 1, tariffs for electricity will increase by 7.4 per cent in Uzbekistan and hot and cold water and heating by 13.5 per cent.

The official exchange rate on March 25 is 2035.05 som to $1.
