The Azerbaijani banking sector expanded Internet and mobile banking services. Thus, around 15,700 transactions totaling 54.9 million manat were conducted within Internet banking, while around 4,500 transactions to the amount of 441,000 manat within mobile-banking in January - September 2013, the Azerbaijani Central Bank's (CBA) report on financial stability as of January- September said on Monday.
The number of plastic cards has been increased by 339,000 to 5.347 million units since early 2013. Today around 891 plastic cards fall to 1,000 people (adults) in Azerbaijan.
There were 2,396 ATMs and 35,152 POS-terminals operated in Azerbaijan by late September. During the reporting period, the number of ATMs increased by six percent.
Around 7.434 million transactions worth 677 million manat were conducted through POS-terminals and 37.544 million transactions worth 6.39 billion manat through ATMs as of the first nine months of 2013.
The official exchange rate was 0.7844 AZN/USD on Nov. 21.
