Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said on December 7 that the major parts of South Pars gas field's phases 12, 151 and 18 will be completed by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 20141).

"We will accept no excuse from the contractors," the IRNA News Agency quoted Zanganeh as saying.

He went on to note that the current development pace of the 5 top-priority phases of the project is satisfying compared with the period before the current administration took office.

"The drilling operations in some phases are behind the schedule, but we hope to complete them in time," Zanganeh added.

Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Roknoddin Javadi said on December 5 that once the phase 18 of giant South Pars gas field comes on stream, some 500 million cubic feet would be added to the country's total offshore gas output, the IRNA News Agency reported.

Javadi went on to note that phases 17 and 18 of South Pars will come on stream in the first half of the next calendar year (to start on March 21, 2014).

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said on December 3 that developing the giant South Pars gas field is the top priority of oil ministry.

"President Rouhani has stressed that the gas field should become fully operational as soon as possible, so the ministry will do its best to facilitate the development projects of different phases," the Fars News Agency quoted Zanganeh as saying.

Zanganeh also said the development projects of South gas field's phases will be accelerated in the next calendar year (to start March 21, 2014).
