Baku, Azerbaijan, April 15

By Emin Aliyev - Trend:

Prices increased by 2.01 percent on Baku's secondary real estate market in March, director general of MBA Group consulting company Nusret Ibrahimov told Trend on April 14.

"As of March, the cost per square meter of secondary housing in the capital amounted to $2,032," he said. "As for the primary market, the square meter of such housing increased by 2.54 percent during a month and cost $1,213."

"The expansion of demolition operations in the capital affected the price hike," he said.

"First, a large number of customers will appear on the market as far as demolition operation scale increases," he said. "The demand will increase. The dynamics of prices will be changed."

"The primary construction volume corresponds to the purchasing power of the population," he added.

"In particular, this concerns the Absheron and Garadagh districts of Baku," he said. "Many houses are being built there. If one speaks about the activity of buyers, the sales are mainly concentrated in the Absheron district and Yeni Yasamal settlement."
