The second international passenger terminal, at a preliminary cost of about $310 million, will be built in Tashkent's airport between 2015 and 2019, a representative of Uzbekistan Airways told Trend.
The source said the construction of a new passenger terminal is included in the airline's investment program for the next five years.
Currently, Tashkent's airport has three terminals - two main passenger terminals and one terminal for special and VIP services, called Tashkent-1.
The passenger terminal Tashkent-2, with a capacity of 1,300 passengers per hour is used serving the passengers of international airlines, and Tashkent-3, commissioned in 2012, with a capacity of 400 passengers per hour, serves passengers of domestic flights.
The new terminal will have a capacity of 1,500 passengers per hour, according to preliminary calculations.
