Iran’s car production has increased by 3.3 percent during the four months of the current Iranian fiscal year (which started March 20).
The country’s car output for the said period reached 368,160, Fars news agency reported August 7.
Sedans counted for 339,838 of the output with a production growth rate of 3.3, while pickup output grew by 8.7 percent to hit 24,908.
Against this trend, bus production declined by 38.4 percent to stand at a modest 149 vehicles. Trucks also fell in output by 3 percent to stand at 3,132.
However, the final month of the period saw a sharp rise in the production of cars, registering a growth rate of 10.6 percent.
The country’s major car manufacturer Iran-Khodro experienced an output plunge of 2.4 percent during the four months mentioned.
However, Saipa, Iran-Khodro’s rival, saw a growth of 4 percent in output.
