Kazakh president invites German investors to partake in privatization

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held discussions with representatives of German business community on the sidelines of a meeting in Sochi with participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of Kazakh president said in a message.

Nazarbayev stressed the active trade and economic partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany during the meeting.

“Germany invested about $5 billion in Kazakhstan, and it is important to note that 90 percent of these funds are put in the non-primary sector. Trade turnover between our countries increased by $1.5 billion during eight months of this year,” Nazarbayev said.

He added that more than 900 companies with German capital successfully work in various spheres, including construction, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing in Kazakhstan.

President Nazarbayev also invited German investors to participate in the third wave of privatization and actively develop cooperation with the financial center “Astana”.

“Businessmen need to use all opportunities to develop their businesses and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation. I am confident that today's meeting will strengthen our partnership,” Nazarbayev said.
