Dutch company Storm International is studying the issue of investing in a project to build a casino in the national tourist zone "Avaza", said the message from the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The relevant negotiations were held by the CEO of the company Darren Keane, who got acquainted with the capabilities and infrastructure of the sea resort near the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.
Darren Keane announced the company's interest in investing in the construction of a casino in Avaza and presented specific proposals, the message says.
In March 2017, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting with local businessmen that "Avaza" will be placed under the competence of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The tourism industry holds a special place in the strategic plans of Turkmenistan, "Avaza" resort being built on the shores of the Caspian sea can serve as an example for such plans. It is the first free economic zone in the country, where the working investors, firms and companies are provided with tax and customs privileges.
Turkmenistan has announced a number of international tenders for the construction of facilities here. In recent years, a new airport, a power plant, desalination and water treatment facilities have been built, and a number of hotels, sanatorium facilities and a yacht club are regularly put into operation.
The Avaza development project envisages the construction of an Aqua Park, an Oceanarium, an indoor ski complex, a cycle track and a casino city.
