Digital Prime Textile LLC, a subsidiary of the Аnteks Group textile company, has launched a cotton textile cluster worth 300 billion soums to grow cotton and produce finished products in Balikchi disctrict of Andijan region, the press service of the Anteks Group announced.
According to the information, the project was implemented in accordance with the decree of the president of Uzbekistan “On Measures for the Accelerated Development of the Textile and Sewing and Knitting Industries” of Dec. 14, 2017.
The first stage of the three-stage project is the cultivation of raw cotton and involves harvesting of 32,700 tons of cotton from about 10,500 hectares of land in 2018. Digital Prime Textile is currently working on implementation of the second stage, which consists of construction of facilities for processing of raw materials and production of textile goods.
These enterprises will be created by involvement of loan funds from Uzpromstroybank and will result in creating 650 new jobs. The production process will use modern tech solutions from Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, Germany and Japan. According to preliminary data, the annual export volume of the textile complex will be $23 million.
