Iran' Mazandaran welcomes ECO's investments

Iran's Mazandaran Province, which has great infrastructure potential, welcomes the investment of the Organization of Economic Cooperation (ECO), IRNA reported referring to the deputy governor of the province on economic affairs coordination Hasan Heyranpour.

Heyranpour made the remarks at the 234th meeting of the ECO Permanent Representatives Council in the Sari city of Mazandaran.

According to Heyranpour, Mazandaran has great infrastructure with almost 24,000 square kilometers territory, 3 airports, 3 ports and access to the country's rail network. Additionally, he added, the province ranks first in Iran by producing 7 million tons of 19 agricultural products per year.

"The ECO is economically well-positioned with a population of 450 million and about $700 billion trade turnover. Taking into account this potential, Mazandaran welcomes investments from ECO members and considers providing incentives for investors," he said.

The 234th meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives started in Sari with the participation of representatives and ambassadors of nine countries on Nov. 5.
