This Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), shrimp production increased in Iran’s Golestan province and 80 tons of shrimp will be exported from this province, said Javad Qods Alavi, director general of the Golestan Fisheries Department, Tasnim news agency reported.
He said that the province saw a 55 percent growth in shrimp export this year.
“Despite problems in the transport sector, we are trying to increase exports through the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway corridor and to increase our presence in the Russian and Chinese markets,” he said.
He added that the shrimp is mainly exported to Vietnam, UAE, Hong Kong, Oman, Spain and other countries.
