Since the beginning of 2018, Azerbaijan’s Zaqatala Cay LLC has increased tea production by 2,000 tons, director of the black tea factory Abdulnahid Shabanov told Trend.
“Tea production amounted to 6,000 tons in 2017, while this year the figure reached 8,000 tons,” he added.
"Our tea is fully sold in the domestic market and today Iranian tea competes with Azerbaijani tea in the consumer market,” Shabanov added. “It is relatively cheaper compared to the tea of our factory."
He said the retail price of one kilogram of Zagatala tea is 34-35 manats, while the wholesale price varies from 30 to 32 manats.
