Tehran Mayor’s Office is trying to provide financial assistance needed for the city metro via the Tehran Economic Council, said Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the City Council of Tehran, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that a part of funds needed for the 3rd, 6th and 7th lines of Tehran metro hasn’t been paid.
He added that these three lines require about 1.5 billion euros.
“There is shortage of financial resources,” he noted. “Foreign loans are the best way to ensure financing for these metro lines.”
He said that 51 percent of foreign loans should be spent on production within Iran and the rest amount should be spent for the metro lines.
