Metro lines will be extended in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa

Metro lines will be extended in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

The total length of metro lines in the province is 54 kilometers, according to the ministry.

“Until 2023, the metro lines will be extended by 58 kilometers, and their total length will be 114 kilometers,” the ministry said.

This will contribute to an increase in passenger traffic, the ministry noted.

“Presently, 286,000 people use the metro services daily in Bursa,” the ministry said. “After the extension of the metro lines, the daily passenger traffic in the metro will be 1.3 million people.”

The work is underway in Turkey on the implementation of 50 transport and communication projects.

The total budget allocated for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey for implementing transport and infrastructure projects in the country will amount to 64.275 billion Turkish liras in 2020-2021.

According to the ministry, 31.183 billion liras will be allocated for the implementation of projects in 2020, which will be 3.413 billion liras more compared to the budget for 2019.

An amount of 31.092 billion liras will be allocated for the implementation of projects in 2021.
