An Uzbek-American business forum will be held in Washington in October, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The parties agreed on that after a briefing on the achievements of Uzbek economy, which was held in Washington DC.
It is planned that the leading US companies in the fields of agriculture, energy, infrastructure development, high technology, medicine, transport and others will take part in the business forum.
“The representatives of The US Department of Commerce also discussed the organization of a trade mission of American companies to Uzbekistan in June. Participants from the number of US companies stated that they intend to expand their presence in the Uzbek market, and representatives of leading international banks are ready to support these aspirations,” the press service of Uzbek Foreign Ministry noted.
For the first 9 months of last year, Uzbekistan and the United States increased their bilateral trade almost 2 times and brought it to $332 million. Currently, over 210 enterprises with the participation of American capital are successfully operating in Uzbekistan; last year alone, more than 25 new enterprises were created with the participation of investors from the United States.
The total amount of US investments and loans attracted to the economy of Uzbekistan from 1998-2017 exceeded $1 billion.
