Turkmenistan eyes to expand air traffic with Asia-Pacific region

Turkmenistan Airlines will hold talks in Tokyo on the establishment of air links with the states of the Asia-Pacific region, Trend reports referring to Turkmen TV channel "Altyn Asyr".

"The technical park of Turkmenistan Airlines is systematically updated with modern airliners, which provides favorable conditions for the development of cooperation in the field of air transport and the opening of new international routes," the report said.

The development of relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, which have rich experience and significant achievements in this field, is of particular importance in the implementation of Turkmenistan's foreign policy concept, as well as the digitization of the national economy.

Representative offices of the airline company have been established in 11 largest cities of Asia and Europe. Flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bangkok, Delhi, Amritsar, Beijing, London, Birmingham, Dubai, Istanbul, Almaty are especially popular.

In the period up to 2020, the modernization of the air park will make it possible to establish flights from Ashgabat to Jeddah, Medina, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Hanoi, Vienna, Sofia, Budapest, New York, Toronto. In the period of 2021-2030, it is planned to establish air links with Madrid, Jakarta, Muscat, Kuwait, Singapore, Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Cairo.
