Cuban Ambassador to Iran Alexis Bandrich Vega has announced that Iranian companies and Cuban companies are not afraid to work with each other, because there are many sanctions imposed against both countries and both countries are resisting, Trend reports via ILNA.

"There will be trade between Iran and Cuba, because both countries are keen to boost their relationship," Vega said referring to Iran and Cuba's relations during the new wave of sanctions by the United States.

"We are well aware that in the economic sector we have to unite and help each other in business, and we will try to find a solution," he said.

"Some things have to be kept secret in order to proceed", he said. "So some things should not be revealed to the enemy, which is why some of the negotiations are secretly formed."

In response to a question about whether joining the FATF has solved Cuba's economic problems, Vega said that "if you need the truth I have to say No, because the purpose of these conventions is not to be beneficial for us."

"Politically, these agreements have a positive effect because they show a good faith and will to transparency and trust, and some countries are positive about being part of the deal, but in fact, they have some drawbacks," the ambassador added.
