Reservoir worth $46M to be built in Uzbek Samarkand

The Bulungur reservoir will be built in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan before July 1, 2021, Trend reports, citing data from the Ministry of Justice.

The total amount of the project exceeds $46 million. As a result of commissioning the reservoir, 51 new jobs will be created.

The government also approved an address list of roads, tunnels and bridges to be built, repaired and reconstructed in 2019-2020. In total, over $319.2 million will be spent on the construction and repair of 103 km of roads, as well as on the construction of tunnels and bridges.

Among other things, an investment project to create a cement plant worth $340 million will be implemented in the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand. Following the project, 600 new jobs will be created.

The project will be implemented with the participation of the Chinese company Gansu Hengya Cement Co. Ltd.

As part of this project, the joint venture Hengyuan cement until January 1, 2021 will be exempt from income tax, property tax, land tax, commercial discovery bonus paid for each discovery of mineral deposits in the subsoil area.
