Qatar interested in investing in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province

Iran’s northeastern Razavi Khorasan Province has great investment opportunities, and Qatar shows interest in these opportunities, Ali Rassoulian, Director General of the provincial department of Razavi Khorasan for economic affairs, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Rassoulian, a Qatari delegation will soon get closely acquainted with the investment opportunities of the province.

He added that 22 investment projects in Razavi Khorasan Province have been presented to Qatar. These projects are in the fields of water and sewage, transportation and electricity, automotive, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, steel, clothing, industrial equipment, mining and tourism, and are worth 932 trillion rials (app. $ 22.1 billion) and 994 million euros.

"Approximately $181 million worth of foreign investment was approved as part of 37 projects last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018). Approximately $23 million of this amount officially entered the country," he said.

According to Rassoulian, the largest investment in Razavi Khorasan Province are from Afghanistan (at 65 percent) and Germany (at 10 percent), followed by the Netherlands, South Korea, Iraq, Russia, Turkey, Bahrain, China and Austria.

Iran exported products worth $8 million to Qatar and imported $0.3 million from Qatar during the period from March 21 to April 20, 2019.
