Uzbekistan exports first batch of fruits to Oman

The Embassy of Uzbekistan and the international logistics company ASYAD organized a trial delivery of melons and peaches of the Nectarine variety from Uzbekistan to Oman, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

In total, 200 kilograms of fruit were sent to the country of the Persian Gulf.

After shipment form the Uzbek embassy in Muscat, an exhibition was organized to mark the launch of the pilot project. Representatives of ASYAD said they are ready to create all the necessary conditions for setting a hub for the delivery and distribution of Uzbek fruits and vegetables in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

Earlier, the first batch of sweet cherries from Uzbekistan was delivered to the largest fruit wholesale market in Shanghai (China), which included 30 tons of berries grown in the Fergana region. It is planned to be sold not only in Shanghai, but also in the nearby Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces.

Prior to this, the first ever batch of fresh sweet cherries from the Namangan region of Uzbekistan was delivered to London counters.

In addition, Uzbekistan is consistently working to promote the export of fruits and vegetables to the markets of Ukraine. Recently, the largest market "Shuvar" in Lviv started to sell fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan.
