More than 100 investment projects worth over $ 1.3 billion will be implemented in the Namangan region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The ministry states that on July 1, a video-conference meeting was held in Namangan, chaired by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov, and Head of the Namangan region administration Khairulla Bozorov.
The event was also attended by heads of diplomatic missions of the country abroad, representatives of a number of ministries and state agencies, and the project local partners.
"During the video-conference, participants were instructed by the head of state to accelerate the implementation and development of over 100 investment projects in the region totaling about $1.3 billion," the ministry noted.
The ministry added that these projects were worked out following the results of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Namangan region on February 28 - March 1, 2019 and the international investment forum Doing business with Namangan in early June.
During the meeting, a number of issues that impede the timely implementation of projects were addressed and the issue of creating a working group to accelerate the development of investment projects in the areas of health and agriculture was discussed.
