Volume of air cargo transportation down in Turkey

In Turkey, the volume of air cargo decreased by 13 percent in January-June 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, and reached 1.492 million tons, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

In January-June 2019, 376,891 tons of cargo were transported by domestic flights, and 1.155 million tons by international ones.

In the reported period, domestic freight traffic decreased by 10.2 percent compared to the same period of 2018. In the meantime, freight traffic by international flights decreased by 13.9 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

The freight traffic at the three main airports of Turkey (Sabiha Gokcen , Esenboga and Antalya) was 391,600 tons in January-June 2019.
