The regulations for setting rate on power transit for customers at Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) have been drafted, said IRENEX power market operation manager Mohammad Hossein Asgari.

As reported, the subscribers that own Iran energy exchange trading code will be able to trade via energy exchange after coordination with power distribution companies.

"The individuals that want to buy electricity in the energy exchange and did not obtain recommendation letter for trading code should visit www.irenex.ir for details of the necessary process," noted Asgari.

In his words, trading electricity will resume at Iran Energy Exchange after approval of recent electronic energy transit regulations by the Minister of Energy.

"The new regulations on rate and rules of power transit provide electricity to consumers with capacity of less than five megawatt. The priority of power trade is to provide power for commercial and residential consumers via energy exchange," said Mohammad Hossein Asgari.

"The increase of customers in addition to 26 companies that are already intend to trade electricity via energy exchange by obtaining trading code will cause power market development in Iran energy exchange," he added.
