In accordance with the decree of the president of Uzbekistan dated August 24, the volume of localized products in 2020-2021 should be increased by at least 20 percent, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
To achieve this goal, a number of activities are outlined.
In particular, manufacturers of import-substituting and export-oriented products are to be compensated for guarantees and credit interest rates.
Furthermore, a separate structural unit for continuous analysis and monitoring of imports is to be created in the Accounts Chamber.
In addition, a sector is to be set up in the Cabinet of Ministers to develop production localization programs in economic sectors and territories, as well as the development of cooperative ties in industry.
The Ministry of Economy and Industry has been assigned as an authorized body for deepening the processes of localization of production and the development of industrial cooperation with the assignment of additional tasks to it.
