Construction work on Azerikimya completed by almost 77%

Construction work at the Azerikimya enterprise has been completed by 76.8 percent, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR told Trend.

The company noted that design and procurement have been almost completed by now, and, as part of the modernization, the propylene production capacity of the EP-300 installation of the ethylene-propylene plant will be increased from 60,000 to 187,000 tons per year.

"A number of new modern technological installations, modern warehouses and digital pneumatic control systems will also be built, among others," the company said.

The large-scale reconstruction and modernization project of the enterprise, launched in 2016 in accordance with the SOCAR development plan, is successfully undeway.

Azerikimya became subordinate to SOCAR in 2010. The production union includes the ethylene-propylene plant, consisting of EP-300 and Polymer-120 units, an isopropyl alcohol production unit, and a steam and electric power production unit, as well as a repair and construction department.
