Land O'Lakes Venture37 to provide technical assistance to Georgian farmers

The US non-profit organization Land O'Lakes Venture37 will use its experience and provide technical assistance to Georgian farmers, said John Ellenberger, the company's CEO, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, met with John Ellenberger at the Ministry. Deputy Minister Khatia Tsilosani and the leaders of the Georgian National Food Agency attended the meeting as well.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the project “Investing in safe and high-quality livestock breeding in Georgia”.

The minister emphasized the importance of raising food safety and quality standards in the dairy and meat industry in Georgia.

The project development process, which is mainly aimed at expanding the knowledge and experience of manufacturers and processors, received a positive assessment.

“We believe that by joint efforts we can achieve significant success in raising the standards of safety and quality of cow’s milk and meat in Georgia,” said Ellenberger.

The five-year project, funded by the US Department of Agriculture in Georgia, is being implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture37 in association with the Georgian Farmers Association.
