Number of cars operating on diesel fuel up in Kazakhstan

The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 502,073 vehicles during first seven months of 2019, which is 5.3 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, as of August 1, 2019, the number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.698 million cars.

According to the committee’s data, 84.1 percent of registered cars operate on petrol, compared to 84 percent previous month. Some 13.2 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel (13.4 percent previous month) and 2.6 percent on diesel fuel (2.5 percent previous month).

During the reporting period, the number of registered car accidents amounted to 8,573 cases, which is 4.5 percent more than during the same period of last year. Some 12,489 people were injured in these accidents.

As of August 1, 2019, insurance companies made 43,318 payments worth 16.8 billion tenge on Mandatory Vehicle Owner’s Third Party Liability Insurance.
