An oil refinery in the Seydi city of Turkmenistan's Lebap province has been supplying road bitumen to neighboring Uzbekistan for the third year in a row, Trend reports via the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

This year, over 8,000 tons, or a third of the total supply volume, were shipped in batches. In total, according to the contracts of the Kyzyl-tepe and Bukhara railway stations, 10,000 tons of road bitumen will be supplied to the neighboring state.

The trains pass to the right bank of the Amu Darya using the Turkmenabat – Farab railway bridge, which was opened two years ago at the same time as the nearby engineering facility.

The enterprise is modernizing and expanding production with the goal of deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials. In addition to the new production of high-octane RON-98 gasoline, a road bitumen production unit was commissioned here.

The unit was the first in the country where the visbreaking process allows the processing of heavy oil waste, decomposing and separating paraffin from tar. The project was carried out by the US company Westport Trading Europe Limited.

The complex is designed to process 118,000 tons of fuel oil, from which valuable building materials are obtained. Over the past nine months, the enterprise has produced 24,300 tons of high-quality products, which is 3,500 tons more than the target amount.
