USAID continues to provide support to Georgia

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) continues to provide support to Georgia, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and USAID Mission Director in Georgia Peter Wiebler attended the ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the USAID Economic Security Program, the National Agency of State Property of Georgia and the Produce in Georgia Agency.

The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The memorandum was signed by USAID Economic Security Program Chief Mark McCord, Chairman of the National Agency of State Property of Georgia Georgi Dugladze and Director General of the Produce in Georgia Agency Mikhail Khidureli.

“The US government is providing unprecedented support to Georgia, which is confirmed by a number of practical actions,” said Turnava.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the purpose of cooperation under this memorandum is to promote employment and investment potential and increase sales and income for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises by promoting the development of new and differentiated products.

“USAID has long been successfully working with the Georgian government in sectors such as energy, agriculture and others. We are pleased to announce that today a new partnership has begun between the USAID Economic Security Program and the two agencies of Georgia,” said Weibler.
