Iran to increase number of special customs checkpoints

The number of customs checkpoints in which economic security police officers serve will increase in Iran by the end of the year (until March 21, 2020), Chief of economic security police Mohammad Reza Mogimi said.

“The economic security police officers work in 12 customs checkpoints in Iran,” Mogimi added, Trend reports referring to Defapress website.

“The economic security police officers will begin to work in 27 more customs checkpoints,” the chief of police added.

“A number of cases were investigated and results were reached since the beginning of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019),” Mogimi said.

Mogimi has not disclosed the steps taken by economic security police officers taking into account the current economic situation.

"All efforts of the Iranian economic security police are aimed at improving the economic situation," the chief of police said. “The cooperation of businessmen and economic security police is positive in Iran.”

"If any problems occur in the field of economy, the economic security police are investigating these issues," Mogimi said.
