TOP 5 non-oil products exported by Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $189.3 million abroad in 2019, which is 6.3 percent more than in 2018, Trend reports referring to the Export Review prepared by the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

Gold worth $172.4 million (an increase of 31.5 percent) were exported and ranked second in the list of goods exported by Azerbaijan while peeled hazelnuts worth $124.2 million (an increase of 24.7 percent) were exported and ranked third.

Azerbaijan also exported raw cotton ($122.4 million), persimmons ($104.7 million), electricity ($76.8 million), methanol ($64.6 million), recycled polyethylene ($64 million), primary polypropylene ($65.7 million) and other products ($970.2 million) in 2019.

Among the most exported products were tomatoes worth $22.6 million, persimmons - $20.1 million, raw cotton - $14.9 million, gold - $14.8 million, peeled hazelnuts - $10.7 million, apples and other fruits - $5 million and other goods - $68.6 million in 2019.

Big export volumes accounted for persimmons (in January - $12.6 million), electricity (in February - $19.4 million), peeled hazelnuts (in March - $13.7 million) from January through March 2019, while in the second quarter, the big export volumes accounted for tomatoes during all three months (from April through June - $112.6 million).

In the third quarter and in the beginning of the fourth quarter, gold ranked first from July through October in its export volume worth $77.6 million, in the middle of the fourth quarter - persimmon from October through November in its export volume worth $ 64.1 million, and at the end of the fourth quarter - tomatoes ($22.6 million).
