The number of operating enterprises and organizations operating in the service sector of Uzbekistan has reached 270,500 units, or 65.8 percent of the total number of enterprises as of March 1, 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Their number increased by 19.1 percent, compared to the same period in 2019.
As of March 1, 2020, the proportion of enterprises and organizations engaged in industry reached 17.7 percent, construction - nine percent and, only 7.5 percent, operate in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
The proportion of operating enterprises and organizations related to transportation and storage services reached 5.8 percent of the total number of enterprises.
The share of operating enterprises and organizations engaged in information activities and providing communication services is three percent of the total number.
The number of operating enterprises and organizations providing health and social welfare services accounted for three percent of the total number.
As of 1 March 2019, 227,100 enterprises and organizations were operating in the service sector. In their overall structure, trade services accounted for 35.8 percent, accommodation and nutrition services for 9.3 per cent, transportation and storage services for 6.1 percent, information and communications services for 3.1 percent, health and social services for 3.1 percent and other services for 42.6 percent.
